Amazon.com on Fri. discounted select titles for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 3 in the latest wave of video game price cuts.
Titles discounted include the sports title Skate at $39.99, the RPG title Untold Legends: Dark Kingdom at $27.99, and the action title Lair at $38.99.
In addition, this week Amazon began offering pre-orders for the PS3 DualShock 3 controller for $49.99, five dollars off the $54.99 MSRP.
The DualShock 3 includes rumble functionality not found in the current Sixaxis controller.
NPD Group Inc. on Thurs. recorded sales of 280,841 PS3 units sold in at U.S. retail in Feb., outselling Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox 360 by 10 percent.
In Japan, the PS3 rebounded from a five-week sales fall to rank as the No. 4 best-selling video game hardware for the week.
