In the Feb. 10 circular, customers who purchase a $899.97 Yamaha / Klipsch audio package will receive Toshiba Corp.’s HD-A3 HD DVD Player at no cost.
Best Buy is also advertising a ‘Buy 1 Get 1 Free’ promotion for select HD DVD titles.
The offer is the latest to spur sales of high-definition products.
This week, Amazon.com discounted 50 percent off nearly 150 HD DVD titles.
Additionally, it is offering 50% off select titles for Sony Corp.’s Blu-ray disc format.
Wal-Mart this week offered the HD-A3 HD DVD Player to online customers and subsequently sold out.
Microsoft last week discounted the Xbox 360 HD DVD Player to $129.99 from $179.99.
Blu-ray player sales recorded an 82 percent share in the week ending Jan. 27. HD DVD recorded the remaining 18 percent, according to data from Nielsen VideoScan.
