Amazon.com on Fri. price cut the title Halo 3 Legendary Edition for Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox 360 to $59.99 in the latest round of video game discounts.
Halo 3 Legendary Edition, released in Sept. 2007, carries a retail price of $129.99.
Amazon previously discounted the title to $79.99 in a Black Friday sale.
The Legendary Edition includes a copy of Halo 3 in a collectible Spartan Mjolnir Mark VI helmet case, as well as an exclusive collection of storyboard art.
Halo 3 was a best-selling title in 2007, moving 4.82 million units in the U.S. to date according to NPD Group Inc.
Microsoft Corp. on Thurs. posted a 79 percent increase in second-quarter profits on strong sales of the Xbox 360 video game console and Windows Vista.
The Entertainment and Devices division, which includes the Xbox and Zune business, increased three percent in revenue to $3.01 billion. It posted a profit of $358 million in the quarter from a loss of $302 million one year prior.
