
Best Buy stores will discount select Blu-ray disc titles to $14.99 next week in the latest promotion to spur high-definition sales.
Eligible titles include Blood Diamond, GoodFellas, Beerfest and March of the Penguins starting Feb. 3.
Additionally, the store will offer a $5 savings with the purchase of two select titles including The Brave One, The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, and Across the Universe.
Retailers this month, including Best Buy, Circuit City and Amazon.com are offering incentives to purchase high-definition content.
Amazon this week is offering Blu-ray disc titles as low as $14.99 and up to 53 percent off select Blu-ray disc titles.
In addition, it slashed prices for select HD DVD titles up to 53 percent off.
Toshiba this month price cut all stand alone HD DVD Players, boosting market share to 34.37 percent in the week ending Jan. 19.
The figure stands behind Blu-ray disc player sales which accounted for the remaining 65.63 percent in the same period.
