Nintendo Co.’s Wii home video game system scored the best customer reviews in 2007 according to reviews from purchasers collated by the London-based firm Reevoo.
In the report, Wii was the most popular of the three video game consoles in 2007. Wii acheived an overall score of 8.78 out of ten, compared to Sony Corp.’s Playstation 3 at 8.25 and Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox 360 at 7.65.
Wii was praised for usability, child friendliness and exercise potential.
The PS3 scored highest on value of money due to the integrated Blu-ray disc player at 7.96 versus 7.70 for Wii and 7.15 for the Xbox 360.
In addition, Wii game titles scored 8.08 out of ten compared to the Xbox 360 at 6.81 and the PS3 at 5.71.
“The Wii has been an absolute phenomenon this year and Nintendo would have cleaned up if availability had been better this Christmas,” said Richard Anson, CEO of Reevoo.
Nintendo ranked as the top-selling console in the U.S. for the month of Nov., moving 981,000 units according to NPD Group Inc.
Nintendo in Oct. raised profit forecast estimates on strong demand for the Wii and Nintendo DS handheld. It expects to sell 17.5 million Wii units this business year.
