2K Games on Tues. announced new download content for the action title Bioshock available for Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox 360.
The new content includes new Plasmids and Tonics, achievements and interface upgrades. It is available as a free download from the Xbox Live Marketplace.
“As one of the highest rated games of the year, we wanted to continue to connect with the fans that made BioShock such an overwhelming retail and critically-acclaimed hit,” said Christoph Hartmann, President of 2K. “We are excited to offer new downloadable content that will extend and enhance the replay value of this title.”
New items include the Sonic Boom to hurl creatures and objects back with a blast of force, EVE saver to enable Plasmids to use less EVE, Vending Expert to reduce prices at vending machines, and Machine Buster to increase the amount of damage players deal to cameras, bots, and turrets.
In addition, the Xbox 360 title update will include a new widescreen option to grant a wider horizontal field of vision. PC owners can download the patch at www.2Kgames.com/bioshock/support.
In Sept. parent company Take Two Interactive Software Inc. said that Bioshock had shipped 1.5 million copies to retail.
The title was released in Aug., coinciding with Microsoft’s price cut for all Xbox 360 models in the U.S.
