Nintendo Co. this week sent e-mail adverts to explain the new Wii Zapper gun peripheral to consumers.
The $19.99 Wii Zapper, released on Nov. 19, is a new product that houses the Wii Remote and Nunchuk to allow for new arcade-style targeting games.
The e-mail links to a website that explains the ability to steer character movement with the control stick and zap enemies with the Wii Remote.
In addition, the website details how to assemble and take apart the peripheral. It also showcases the included game title Link’s Crossbow Training.
Third-party titles that utilize the Wii Zapper include EA’s Medal of Honor Heroes 2, Capcom Co.’s Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles, and Sega’s Ghost Squad.
Nintendo in Oct. raised profit forecast estimates on strong demand for the Wii and Nintendo DS handheld. It expects to sell 17.5 million Wii units this business year.
