Toys R Us stocks, sells out of Wii

Toys R Us this week restocked and sold out of Nintendo Co.’s Wii to online customers.

Toysrus.com sold Wii as a stand-alone $249 SKU to buyers. The product ranked as the No. 1 top-seller in the video game division on Wed. evening.

Wii remains sold out at most retail stores as customers nab the motion-sensitive consoles.

This month, Nintendo will retail a new $19 Wii Zapper gun peripheral. The option will offer new shooter titles to the console, including Sega Corp.’s Ghost Squad and Capcom Co.’s Resident Evil: The Umbrella Chronicles.

Nintendo last week raised profit forecast estimates on strong demand for the Wii and Nintendo DS handheld. It expects to sell 17.5 million Wii units this business year.

Nintendo has shipped 13.2 million Wii units to date worldwide.
