
Sales for Microsoft Corp.’s were under 2,000 units in the latest hardware sales tally in Japan.
Media Create Co. on Fri. reported that the Xbox 360 sold 1,635 units between Aug. 27 and Sept. 2. By comparison, the Xbox successor sold 2,044 units one week ago.
The debut of Hitman: Blood Money for the Xbox 360 fell flat to rank at No. 29. The action title did little to increase demand for the hardware against competitor offerings.
The Xbox 360 ranks as the No. 6 best-selling video game hardware in Japan, above only the Game Boy and GameCube platforms.
Microsoft in Aug. price cut all Xbox 360 models in the U.S. from $20 to $50.
The company sold about 122,500 Xbox 360 units in Japan in the first half of 2007.
