
Sales for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 3 decreased 25 percent after a streak that held sales above 20,000 units for four consecutive weeks.
Media Create Co. on Fri. reported that the PS3 sold 16,393 units between Aug. 20 and Aug. 26, a decline from 21,720 units the week prior.
Top-seller Everybody’s Golf fell out of the top 15 to the No. 17 sales rank. The release of the title, which has sold more than 280,000 units in the territory, contributed to the four-week sales boost.
The PS3 did not rank any other game titles in the top 50 game sales for the week.
Sony’s U.S. PS3 sales increased 61 percent when the company price cut the 60GB model by $100.
Sony has sold more than 1 million PS3 units in Japan to date.
