
Microsoft Corp. on Thurs. announced that the title Mass Effect for the Xbox 360 will be released to U.S. retail on Nov. 20.
The action role-playing game is a new IP from Bioware, creators of titles including Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic and Jade Empire.
“With Mass Effect, BioWare is delivering an incredible next-gen gaming odyssey. Our fans will journey through a vast, futuristic universe as they are challenged to make impactful decisions that will determine the very fate of the galaxy,” said Ray Muzyka, chief executive officer, BioWare Corp.
The game requires players to make decisions that will impact the title’s storyline.
Mass Effect was previously demonstrated at the E3 Media & Business Summit in July.
Microsoft’s Xbox 360 is the No. 5 best-selling video game hardware in the U.S., moving 170,000 units in the month of July.
This month, Microsoft price cut all Xbox 360 hardware from $20 to $50.
