Xbox 360 titles gain traction at Japan retailer

Software for Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox 360 gained traction this week in the latest retail sales data from Amazon Japan.

Three titles for the Xbox 360 rank in the top 15 sales, including The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion at No. 2, Ace Combat 6 at No. 3, and Halo 3 at No. 13.

Ace Combat 6 will land at Japan retail in Nov., while Halo 3 is scheduled for a Sept. release.

Japan publisher Enterbrain this week said that the Xbox 360 has sold more than 420,000 units in Japan to date. Its top-selling title is the RPG Blue Dragon, which debuted in Dec.

Other top-selling titles include Capcom Co.’s Dead Rising, Lost Planet: Extreme Condition, and Namco Bandai’s Trusty Bell.

Microsoft has shipped 5.6 million Xbox 360 units worldwide to date.
