Nintendo Co.’s Mario Party 8 for Nintendo Co.’s Wii is the top-selling product in the latest sales data from Amazon Japan.
The latest in the Mario Party franchise ranks as the No. 1 product in Amazon Japan’s Video Games division based on pre-orders. The title will be released in the region on July 26.
Mario Party 8 has sold more than 550,000 copies in the U.S. since its release on May 29.
Other top titles at Amazon Japan include The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and Ace Combat 6 Fires of Liberation for Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox 360, and Everybody’s Golf 5 for Sony Corp.’s Playstation 3.
Wii has sold 2.9 million units in Japan to date. Top software titles include Wii Sports and Wii Play.
Nintendo last week showcased new offerings for Wii, including Wii Fit, a new exercise title that will feature more than 40 exercises.
