Sony’s Playstation 3 this week is listed as a top-selling product at Circuit City’s online divison, Circuitcity.com, following a price break that lowered the $600 product to $499.
The 60GB PS3 is listed among the top five selling products and the is listed in the top five most popular searches at the online electronics store.
Sony last week issued a price break for the 60GB SKU and introduced a new 80GB SKU that will debut in Aug. for $599.
The company later clarified that the 60GB model will be discontined following its depletion of stock at U.S. retail.
Sony said that PS3 sales have doubled at the top five retailers in the U.S. since the price break. It currently ranks as the top-selling product at Amazon.com.
Sony expects to ship 11 million PS3 units worldwide this business year.
