2K Sports on Thurs. touted new features for the Major League Baseball title The BIGS to be released on Nintendo Co.’s Wii this summer.
The BIGS is the first licensed baseball title for Wii that will utilize the motion-sensitive Wii Remote and Nunchuk controllers.
Batting, pitching, fielding, and base running will incorporate motion to facilitate on-screen acton. In batting, players will use the Wii Remote, while a drumming motion with the remote and Nunchuk will control running speed.
“We are very excited to bring our first 2K Sports title to the Wii,” said Greg Thomas, President of Visual Concepts, a 2K Sports studio.
“With The BIGS we really focused on ways to maximize the Wii’s very unique controls by applying them to all the significant actions in baseball. We’re always looking to deliver unique gaming experiences and the fun gameplay of The BIGS on the Wii demonstrates our commitment to innovation in sports video games.”
The BIGS will also be released for Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox 360 and Sony Corp.’s Playstation 3, Playstation 2, and PSP handheld.
