
Wal-Mart and Sam’s Club this week sold out of initial quantities of Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox 360 Elite through their respective online divisions.
Walmart.com offered its customers the Xbox 360 Elite Live Gamer’s Bundle, which includes the Elite console, Black accessory bundle, Xbox Live three-month Gold Card, Messenger Bag, and two game titles for $684.20.
The item was listed as “Out of Stock” on Mon. morning.
Meanwhile, Samsclub.com offered its customers the Xbox 360 Elite with an additional black controller for $528.64. The item is listed as “Out of Stock for Delivery”.
Microsoft released the Xbox 360 Elite on Sun. to U.S. retail. The deluxe Xbox 360 includes HDMI and a 120GB hard drive for $479.
Several retailers including Bestbuy.com and Circuitcity.com held in-stock status of the Elite on Mon. Amazon.com remained out of the stock on the item after it offered pre-sales to customers.
Microsoft has sold 5.3 million Xbox 360 units in the U.S. The Elite will be sold along side current SKUs, including the Premium at $399 and the Core at $299.
