Xbox 360 game Tiger Woods PGA 2007 drops to $20

February 26th, 2007 · No Comments

Retailer Amazon.com on Feb. 24 discounted EA’s Tiger Woods PGA Tour 07 for Microsoft Corp.’s Xbox 360 to under $20.

The game, released in Oct. 2006, was sold to bargain hunters for as low as $19.99 over the weekend.

After sales spiked, the priced was raised to $29.99 and has subsequently increased to $49.82.

The steep price cut allowed the game to soar to the No. 1 ranked item in the Computer & Video Games division at Amazon. It currently ranks at No. 10.

Retailers have been aggressive in providing sharp discounts for Xbox 360 software titles. During the holidays, many retailers included free software titles for the console in order to move units.

The attractive offers allowed Microsoft to outperform Sony Corp.’s Playstation 3 and Nintendo Co.’s Wii during the holiday buying season.

However in the latest U.S. sales figures, the Xbox 360 has fallen behind the motion-sensitive Wii.

Microsoft expects to ship 12 million Xbox 360 units by fiscal June 2007.
