Electronics website DigiTimes on Tues. reported that Sony Corp.’s Playstation 3 and Nintendo Co.’s Wii will be absent from the Taipei Game Show 2007.
The annual Taipei Game Show will begin on Feb. 8.
The absense of the the two new next-generation consoles will allow Microsoft to showcase the Xbox 360 console without hardware competition from its video game rivals.
Microsoft will reportedly occupy 36 booths at the event.
The Xbox 360 has performed well in worldwide territories, including the U.S. and Europe. Recently, the console received increased sales in Japan due to the release of key game offerings.
In addition to Taiwan, Microsoft is expected to release the Xbox 360 in China in 2007.
