Nintendo Co. this week announced that it will release the interactive novel Hotel Dusk: Room 215 to the Nintendo DS on Jan. 24.
The exclusive offering allows owners to experience a film noir mystery on the handheld and make decisions to further the story via the handheld’s touch screen.
The game is said to feature deep characters and an engrossing plot for mystery lovers.
“Hotel Dusk: Room 215 could be considered a new genre for both video games and storytelling,” explains George Harrison, Nintendo of America’s senior vice president of marketing and corporate communications. “Just as audio books brought the printed word to a new medium, so does this new ‘video game book.’”
The final game will allow players to strong arm subjects or play it cool to advance the plot.
Hotel Dusk: Room 215 is rated T and will be available this week at U.S. retail.
