Nintendo Co. on Mon. announced that it has released The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past to the Wii video game system’s Virtual Console.
A Link to th Past is a 1-player role-playing offering originally released for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System.
The full game can be redeemed with a high-speed internet connection via the Wii Shop Channel for 800 Wii Points.
Nintendo previously released the first installment of the series, The Legend of Zelda for the NES, when the Wii debuted at U.S. retail in late 2006.
The company has released more than 30 classic titles to the Wii Virtual Console, including games for the Sega Genesis and TurboGrafx-16.
Nintendo forecasts shipments of 6 million Wii consoles worldwide by fiscal Mar. 2007.
