TurboGrafx-16 titles drop to Wii Virtual Console

Nintendo on Tues. introduced TurboGrafx-16 titles to the Wii Virtual Console.

The TurboGrafx-16 joins the NES, SNES, Nintendo 64, and Sega Genesis in the Virtual Console menu, which allows Wii owners to download classic game titles to their console.

Initial TurboGrafx-16 games include Bomberman ‘93 and Bonk’s Adventure. Each title costs 600 Wii Points.

Nintendo dropped Wii to retail on Sun., Nov. 19 to the mass market. The launch SKU retails for $249 and includes a collection of five sports titles called Wii Sports.

Retail quantity of Wii reached as high as 100 units at select retail stores. The Toys R Us in New York City held 2,500 units on hand for a midnight launch event.

Nintendo expects to ship 4 million Wii units to retail by year-end.
