Nintendo on late Tues. announced that the Wii will boast 32 game offerings by year-end.

Wii will drop to U.S. retail on Nov. 19 for $249.99.

Nintendo will offer the RPG The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess and racer Excite Truck at launch. In addition, it will offer the bundle pack-in Wii Sports.

Third-party titles include Activision’s Call of Duty 3, Tony Hawk’s Downhill Jam, Marvel: Ultimate Alliance, Atari’s Dragon Ball Z: Budokai Tenkaichi, Atlus’ Trauma Center: Second Opinion, EA’s Madden NFL 07, Need for Speed: Carbon, Konami’s Elebits, Midway’s Rampage: Total Destruction, Sega’s Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz, SNK’s Metal Slug Anthology, Tecmo’s Super Swing Golf, THQ’s SpongeBob SquarePants: The Creature from the Krusty Krab, Ubisoft’s Far Cry Vengeance and Vivendi’s Ice Age 2: The Meltdown.

“Developers worldwide have enhanced Wii’s launch library of new games with countless new ways to play,” says George Harrison, Nintendo of America’s senior vice president of marketing and corporate communications. “Whether you pick a completely new property or a classic franchise, the Wii experience draws you in.”

Nintendo hopes that core and casual offerings will help sell the Wii to the mass market, including consumers who do not normally play video games. It will ship 4 million Wii units to retail stores by the end of 2006.
