Microsoft’s Xbox 360 received a marginal sales gain in Japan this week following dismal sales in week prior.
Media Create Co. on Friday reported that the Xbox 360 sold 1,109 units from Sept. 18 to Sept. 24. By comparison Nintendo’s DS Lite sold 139,835 units, the PS2 32,673 units, and the PSP 23,118 units.
The week prior, the Xbox 360 sold only 928 units, a new low from frequent sales of over 1,000 units.
Microsoft last week showcased new wares at the Tokyo Game Show 2006 that will help boost its lagging marketshare in the territory.
New games include RPGs like Blue Dragon and Namco’s Eternal Sonata. In addition, it will introduce a lower priced Xbox 360 SKU for $256 and release an optional HD DVD drive for $170.
