New Xbox 360 demos drop to Xbox Live

A batch of new Xbox 360 demos have dropped to Xbox Live Marketplace as part of Microsoft’s Bringing It Home promotion.

Bringing It Home this week fed Xbox 360 owners with content from the Tokyo Game Show 2006 in Japan and the X06 Event in Barcelona, Spain.

New playable demos include THQ’s WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2007, Lucasarts’ Lego Star Wars II: The Original Trilogy, Sierra’s F.E.A.R., Sega’s Sonic The Hedgehog, and Microsoft’s Fuzion Frenzy 2.

Microsoft in late Aug. reported that Xbox Live users nabbed more than 50 million content downloads. The Xbox Live Marketplace offers Xbox 360 owners game demos, movie trailers, videos, and premium game content.

Nintendo will offer its own microtransaction services on Wii with the Wii Shop Channel. The company will hawk Virtual Console games online at $5 to $10 each.
