September 28th, 2006 · No Comments

2K on Thursday announced that the first-person shooter BioShock will be released exclusively for the Xbox 360 and Windows when it drops to retail in 2007.

“2K is excited to release BioShock exclusively on Xbox 360 and under the Games for Windows brand on the PC,” said Christoph Hartmann, President, 2K. “BioShock is the next step in the evolution of first-person shooters and a perfect title to push the limits of Xbox 360.”

In addition to BioShock, Microsoft this week announced at the X06 Event in Barcelona, Spain multiple new projects for the Xbox 360, including the RTS entry Halo Wars and the racing sequel Project Gotham Racing 4.

Microsoft has sold more than 5 million Xbox 360 machines worldwide. It will release an optional HD DVD player for the Xbox 360 this holiday for $199.
