GameStop, EB Games to serve Wii bundle pre-orders

GameStop EB Games Wii Newsletter

EB Games and GameStop on Fri. released a newsletter that told customers that the retailers will be offering Wii bundle pre-orders.

Nintendo this week announced that Wii will drop to retail on Nov. 19 for $249.99.

The SKU will include one Wii Remote, one Nunchuk controller, and a copy of Wii Sports.

Retailers like EB Games and GameStop frequently retail bundles to customers in an effort to sell more games and accessories with the machine.

Last year, bundles for Microsoft’s Xbox 360 reached over $2,000 when retailers included new HDTV sets in the configuration.

Brick and mortar retailers like Wal-Mart and Target are likely to allow customers to purchase Wii without buying games or accessories.

Last Nov. certain Best Buy locations forced customers to buy a number of games and accessories with the Xbox 360, a practice that broke company policy. The electronics retailer later allowed customers to return any games or accessories they were asked to purchase during the transaction.
