Sega will rock at least seven Virtual Console games for Nintendo’s Wii video game system.
The Entertainment Software Ratings Board website reveals that Sega will release Ecco the Dolphin, Altered Beast, Toe Jam and Earl, Golden Axe, Columns, Sonic the Hedgehog, and Ristar as downloadable content for Wii.
Wii will employ access to decades of arcade classics from Nintendo, Sega, and Hudson. The service is expected to allow Wii owners to download titles to flash memory at an undetermined cost.
Nintendo games will include hits from the NES, SNES, and Nintendo 64. The company demonstrated titles like Super Mario 64 and Bonk’s Adventure at the 2006 Electronic Entertainment Expo.
Sega’s initial Virtual Console lineup is rated E for Everyone.
Nintendo will release the Wii in the fourth quarter for under $250.
