Retailer Amazon.com this week price cut Microsoft Corp.'s Xbox 360 Elite Bundle $30 below Sony Corp.'s Playstation 3 to move inventory.

On Mon., the Xbox 360 Elite Winter Bundle held a sale price of $269.99, 10 percent off the $299.99 MSRP.

The bundle includes title LEGO Batman and PURE.

The price cut is likely to move inventory of the Xbox 360 hardware, which has seen slower sales than rivals in recent tallies.

Sony in Dec. said it sold 440,000 PS3 units during the Thanksgiving week sales period. Microsoft said Xbox 360 doubled from the week prior the same period, though it did not release sales figures.

The PS3 sold 321,000 units in Oct., while the Xbox 360 sold 250,000 in the same period.

The PS3 has held strong momentum post price cut to $299 in Sept. In addition, Blu-ray titles at under $10 have helped encourage demand for the hardware, which includes a built-in Blu-ray disc drive.

Microsoft in Nov. began sale of the new Xbox 360 250GB Modern Warfare 2 Limited Edition SKU.

Sony in Nov. began sale of the PS3 250GB model, which includes a 250GB hard drive at $349.99.
