Week recap: PS3 Netflix; Xbox 360 ban; Wii safe

Sony Corp. this week began sale of the new Playstation 3 250GB SKU at U.S. retail.
Netflix Inc. this week began shipping a Blu-ray disc to allow members to stream instant TV and movie content to their PS3 hardware. Media Create Co. this week reported that the PS3 Slim sold more than 36,000 units to rank No. 1 in console sales. EA Inc. this week said the Battlefield: Bad Company 2 Multiplayer Beta is exclusive to the PS3. The demo will be released Nov. 19. Sony this week added a new slate of content providers to the Playstation Network, including Lucasfilm and Image Entertainment. Advanced orders for the God of War Collection increased this week at Amazon.com. The title will be released in mid-Nov. Atlus Inc.'s Demon's Souls this week was price cut to under $50 in a new game sale. In addition, Gran Turismo 5 was discounted to under $55. Sony this week said it will release Braid to PSN. The DLC title includes time manipulation to solve puzzles. Sales for Microsoft Corp.'s Xbox 360 increased to more than 6,000 units at Japan retail.
