Dell Inc. this week discounted Sony Corp.'s new Playstation 3 Slim by $30 in a new hardware promotion.

This week, the PS3 Slim held a sale price of $269.99 after a $30 instant savings at Dell.com.

The PS3 Slim, which includes a 120GB hard drive and a built-in Blu-ray disc player, typically sells for $299.99.

Sony in Aug. began sale of the new Playstation 3 Slim model, a smaller and lighter version of the hardware.

The current 80GB SKU has dropped to $299.99, while the 160GB SKU was price cut to $399.99.

Sony this month announced the God of War Collection, a Blu-ray disc that includes God of War 1 and 2 at 60 frames per second and 720p resolution.
