Retailer Amazon.com this week price cut Microsoft Corp.'s Gears of War 2 for the Xbox 360 to under $35 in a new game sale.

On Mon., Gears of War 2 held a sale price of $34.97. The title previously sold at $59.99.

The title, released in Nov. 2008, is the sequel to best-selling 2007 hit Gears of War.

Amazon is concurrently offering a free game title with the purchase of the Xbox 360 Arcade SKU in a new hardware promotion.

The Xbox 360 sold 175,000 units in May to rank second in console sales and third in overall hardware sales.
