Kindle DX sold out second time due to high demand

Retailer Amazon.com this month sold out of the Kindle DX for a second time due to high demand for the new wireless reading device.

The product now carries a ship time of four to six weeks.

The Kindle DX previously sold out in mid-June.

Announced in May, the Kindle DX features a 9.7-inch screen, storage for 3,500 books, 3G wireless downloading, and native PDF file support.

The device carries a price of $489.

Amazon currently offers more than 300,000 books for Kindle, and popular newspapers, blogs, and magazines available for download.

Most New York Times and new releases are priced at $9.99.

The original Kindle, retails for $359.
