Retailer Amazon.com this week began holding a new Blu-ray drama sale in the latest high-definition promotion.

Eligible titles include American Psycho, Babel, The Brave One, The Descent, Donnie Brasco, A Few Good Men, The Godfather Trilogy, and John Q.

Titles start as low as $9.99.

Amazon is concurrently holding a $14.99 Blu-ray sale.

Titles include Casino Royale, Total Recall, Hellboy, and Crash.

Wal-Mart Stores Inc. on Sun. will begin selling a $128 Blu-ray disc player in a new Father's Day sale.

NPD Group Inc. this month said that Blu-ray player sales have increased 72 percent in the first quarter of 2009 compared to the same period the year prior.

Unit sales totaled to 400,000 units in the first three months of the year.
