Sales for Sony Corp.'s Playstation 3 increased at retailer Amazon.com over the weekend following a strong showcase at the Electronic Entertainment Expo.

On Sun., the PS3 160GB SKU held a 95 percent increase in sales to rank at No. 183 in Amazon's Video Games division.

New titles showcased last week include Uncharted 2: Among Thieves and God of War III.

Additionally, the company demonstrated the PSP Go, a new 16GB handheld to hold all digital content.

The product will be sold for $249 on Oct. 1.

Amazon.com in Apr. restocked the backwards compatible PS3 80GB Metal Gear Solid 4 Pack.

Released in June 2008, the MGS4 Pack includes software-based backwards compatibility to Playstation 2 titles.

The PS3 sold 124,000 units in Apr. U.S. sales.
