Sony PSP Go pre-order sales slide up 500% at retail

Advanced sales for Sony Corp.'s PSP Go increased more than 500 percent after availability at retailer Amazon.com.

On Thurs., the PSP Go held a 556 percent sales increase to rank at No. 54 in Amazon's Video Games division.

By Fri. morning, the PSP Go ranked at No. 40.

The PSP Go, to be sold on Oct. 1, will retail for $249.99.

The PSP Go will feature a 3.8-inch screen, 16GB Flash memory, Bluetooth support, and hold all-digital content.

Users can download digital entertainment direct to the PSP Go from the Playstation Store, including games, demos, movies and TV shows via the PC application Media Go.

The final product will be 43 percent lighter than the PSP-3000.

A Memory Stick Micro slot will be available to add extra storage for digital content.
