Microsoft Corp. on Mon. announced that Konami Corp.'s Metal Gear Solid franchise will be available on the Xbox 360.

The new title, called Metal Gear Solid: Rising, will star character Raiden, who became an unlikely lead character in Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty.

Developer Hideo Kojima did not reveal details about the new title, however the title's logo featured the tagline, "Lightning Bolt Action".

The Metal Gear Solid franchise has previously been released on Sony Corp.'s Playstation line of hardware and Nintendo Co.'s GameCube.
