E3: PSP Go confirmed; 16GB Flash; all DLC content

Sony Corp. this week detailed the new PSP Go handheld in the June episode of the Qore digital program on the Playstation Network for the Playstation 3.

The PSP Go will feature a 3.8-inch screen, 16GB Flash memory, Bluetooth support, and hold all-digital content.

Users can slide the top half of the unit to reveal a set of controls similar to the current PSP.

The final product will be 43 percent lighter than the PSP-3000.

A Memory Stick slot will be available to add extra storage for digital content.

Initial digital content will include DLC titles like Gran Turismo and Jak and Daxter. In addition, a new Metal Gear Solid title is in development by Konami Corp.

All future PSP titles will be sold in package and digital format, however some titles will be download only.

All movies and TV shows from the Playstation Network will be available on the PSP Go.

The PSP Go is said not to replace the current PSP. Both will be sold concurrently at retail.

The PSP Go will be available this fall at a to be determined price.
