Meanwhile, retailer Amazon.com on Wed. began selling the PS3 80GB SKU at $349.98 in a one-day promotion.
This month, the retailer extended an video game accessories sale for the PS3, Microsoft Corp.'s Xbox 360 and Nintendo Co.'s Wii to the end of Jan.
Discounted PS3 accessories include the Dualshock 3 controller at $42.99 and the PS3 Blu-ray Remote at $19.99.
Sony in Jan. released firmware update v2.60, which includes a new Photo Gallery application to better organize and view photos on the PS3 hardware.
Sony in Nov. released the 160GB PS3 SKU. The bundle includes a new 160GB PS3, Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, PAIN downloadable game voucher, and a Dualshock 3 controller for $499.
Additionally, it sells an 80GB model for $399.99.
Next month, the company will release the exclusive title Killzone 2 to U.S. retail.
