Best Buy to sell discounted PS3, HDTV bundle

Best Buy Co. Inc. stores on Sun. will sell a discounted bundle that includes Sony Corp.'s Playstation 3 and a Bravia HDTV.
The bundle features a Bravia 32" Class 1080p LCD HDTV and an 80GB PS3 for $1099.98 after a $400 instant savings. The 32" Class 1080p LCD HDTV sells separately at a sale price of $999.99, while the PS3 80GB sells for $399.99. The Blu-ray disc Association in Jan. said that 10.7 million Blu-ray players have been sold in the U.S. to date. Sony's Playstation 3, which includes a built-in Blu-ray disc drive, accounted for six million of total U.S. Blu-ray player sales. Retailer Amazon.com this month began selling select Blu-ray disc titles for under $12 in a new high-definition sale. It is concurrently holding a 'Buy 2 Get 1 Free' Blu-ray sale. Additonally, this month it extended a video game accessories sale for the PS3, Microsoft Corp.'s Xbox 360 and Nintendo Co.'s Wii to the end of Jan. Discounted PS3 accessories include the Dualshock 3 controller at $42.99 and the PS3 Blu-ray Remote at $19.99. Sony this week released firmware update v2.60, which includes a new Photo Gallery application to better organize and view photos on the PS3 hardware.
