Retailer Amazon.com this week price cut Activision Inc.'s Guitar Hero World Tour Band Kit for Microsoft Corp.'s Xbox 360 and Nintendo Co.'s Wii to under $160 in a new round of video game discounts.

On Tues., the Xbox 360 version held a sale price of $159.99 and the Wii version held a discount price of $159.99, down from a $189.99 MSRP.

Activision in Oct. released the Guitar Hero: World Tour Band Kit, which includes a guitar, drum kit, and microphone for $189.99.

World Tour is the first Guitar Hero title to offer the option to download additional content on Wii.

NPD Group Inc. in Nov. said that Wii sold 803,210 units to rank as the No. 1 game hardware for the month in the U.S.

Microsoft in Dec. said that sales for the Xbox 360 more than doubled in the month of Nov.

Amazon is currently holding a new accessories sale for PS3, Xbox 360, and Wii.
