Target Corp. on Sun. will offer customers a $40 gift card with the purchase of Sony Corp.'s Playstation 3 in a new weekly promotion.

In the offer, customers who purchase an 80GB PS3 will receive a $40 gift card instantly at no additional cost.

Retailer Amazon.com offering two free Blu-ray disc titles with the purchase of an 80GB PS3, Blu-ray player, and any two Sony Blu-ray disc titles.

Additionally, it is selling the limited edition PS3 Metal Gear Solid 4 Kojima Bundle for $399.96.

Sony this week said that the PS3 held a 56 percent increase in year-over-year sales in the month of Oct.

The PS3 sold 190,000 units in Oct to rank as the No. 4 hardware during the month according to data from NPD Group Inc.
