Amazon.com and Circuit City Stores Inc. price cut the title to $19.99 this week.
The title was released in 2006 as a launch title for the PS3.
It is now a title in the discounted Greatest Hits library.
The discount comes days before the Nov. 4 release of Resistance 2.
The stand-alone SKU will be sold for $59.99.
The Collector's Edition SKU includes an exclusive action figure, DVD, and more for $79.99.
Amazon offering a free $10 gift card with the pre-purchase of the Resistance 2 standard SKU.
Resistance 2 is the first-person follow up to the PS3 launch title Resistance: Fall of Man. The latest version will include 300-ft enemies and new online multiplayer modes.
Amazon in Oct. began offering $100 off Sony Corp.'s Playstation 3 or a stand-alone Blu-ray player with the purchase of four Warner Blu-ray disc titles.
In the new offer, customers who purchase a 80GB PS3 or a Sylvania Blu-ray player and four select Warner Blu-ray disc titles will receive an instant $100 off their total purchase.
Sony in Oct. said that sales for the PS3 video game console are up 86 percent in year-over-year sales for the second quarter.
