PS3 owners snap up LittleBigPlanet beta codes

Owners of Sony Corp.'s Playstation 3 snapped up free beta codes for LittleBigPlanet when USA Today offered keys to sneak peek the innovative new title.
On Wed., PS3 owners nabbed 15,000 free beta codes provided by USA Today that allows gamers to test drive LittleBigPlanet. By Wed. evening all codes were e-mailed to interested parties. LittleBigPlanet will allow players to custom-create characters, build levels, and share levels with others online. The title will also include both offline and online multiplayer modes for up to four. LittleBigPlanet is scheduled to be released on Oct. 21. Sony this month said that sales for the PS3 and the PSP are better than expected and may see a shortage at retail. The company in Nov. will release a new 160GB PS3 Bundle SKU. Announced in Aug., the limited edition bundle will include the title Uncharted: Drake's Fortune, a Playstation Network voucher for Pain, and a Dualshock 3 Wireless Controller for $499.99.
