Sales for EA Inc.'s Madden NFL 09 are higher on Microsoft Corp.'s Xbox 360 than rival hardware according to sales data from Amazon.com.

In the sales figures, the Madden NFL 09 Xbox 360 SKU held 31 percent of all sales, followed by Madden for Sony Corp.'s Playstation 3 at 25 percent and Madden for Nintendo Co.'s Wii at 13 percent.

In the handheld market, Madden 09 for Sony's PSP held four percent of sales while the Nintendo DS version held a 1 percent share.

Madden NFL 09 celebrates the 20th anniversary of the football franchise.

Microsoft on Wed. announced that it will price cut all Xbox 360 hardware in the U.S.

Beginning Sept. 5, the Xbox 360 Arcade SKU will sell for $199, the Pro SKU at $299, and the Elite SKU at $399.
