Xbox 360 Japan sales up for fourth consecutive week

Sales for Microsoft Corp.'s Xbox 360 increased for the fourth consecutive week in Japan on higher demand for the product.
Media Create Co. on Fri. reported that the Xbox 360 sold 5,359 between July 28 and Aug. 3, an increase from 4,941 units and a boost from 3,807 units three weeks prior.
The Xbox 360 ranked one title in the top ten, Namco Bandai Inc.'s Soul Calibur IV, which moved 34,786 units in its week.
The Xbox 360 sold 219,800 units in June in the U.S. to rank behind the PS3 and Nintendo Co.'s Wii.
This month, Microsoft price cut the 20GB Xbox 360 Pro model by $50 to $299.99.
It began sale of a new 60GB model for $349.99 in Aug.
