Best Buy Co. Inc. stores this week began offering a new wave of Blu-ray disc titles to customers at a $10 price cut.

On Sun., Best Buy advertised select Blu-ray disc titles for $19.99, including Gone Baby Gone, Justice League: A New Frontier, Cars, Happy Feet, TMNT, Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, Pearl Harbor, and Apocalypto.

The sale is the latest promotion to further adoption of the Blu-ray format following Toshiba Corp.'s exit from the HD DVD business in Feb.

Best Buy last week began promoting Blu-ray titles and Sony Corp.'s Playstation 3 at its HD DVD Action Center, which allows HD DVD owners to claim $50 gift cards for each player purchased or trade in their HD DVD player for credit.

Amazon.com this week is offering Blu-ray titles up to 47% off on more than 100 titles.

Titles include I Am Legend at $18.99, Planet Earth: The Complete BBC Series at $66.95, Twister at $19.95, and Goodfellas at $19.95.

Sony's U.S. game division this month said that a new software update for the Playstation 3 will add new interactive Blu-ray features to the hardware in late Mar.

The new Blu-ray disc Profile 2.0, or BD-Live, will enable new interactive features, including downloadable video content, ringtones, games, and more.
