Advanced orders for Sony Corp.'s Playstation 3 DualShock 3 controller ranked just behind Nintendo Co.'s Super Smash Bros. Brawl in the latest sales data from Amazon.com.
On Thurs., Super Smash Bros. Brawl for Wii ranked as the No. 1 best-selling product in the Video Games division. Released on Mar. 9, the entry offers new online multiplayer action via the Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection service. Orders for the PS3 DualShock 3 controller ranked one below at No. 2 in the Video Games division. Amazon this week began offering pre-orders for the peripheral, which adds rumble functionality not found in the current Sixaxis controller. The retailer is selling the item at $49.99, five dollars below the $54.99 MSRP. Nintendo this week said that it will release Mario Kart Wii to U.S. retail in Apr. The title will also incorporate online multiplayer functionality. Sony last month said it will release a brand new PS3 80GB SKU that will include Konami Corp.'s Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots in Q2 of 2008.
