Xbox 360 Premium SKU sold out at Amazon

Microsoft Corp.'s Xbox 360 Premium SKU held a sold out status on Tues. at Amazon.com as demand for Halo 3 continues to drive hardware sales.
The Xbox 360 Premium SKU held a No. 49 sales rank at Amazon on Tues. morning in a midst of unavailability. Meanwhile in the in-stock $449 Xbox 360 Elite held a No. 18 sales rank in the same period. Microsoft's Halo ranked as the No. 1 best-selling product in Amazon's Computer & Video Game division. The Limited Edition SKU ranked at No. 25 and the Legendary Edition ranked at No. 66. All three Halo 3 retail SKUs ranked in the top 10 sales during launch at the end of Sept. Microsoft last week said that Halo 3 has generated $300 million in sales in first-week sales and that Xbox 360 sales had doubled from the week prior to the key game launch. The previous chapter in the series, Halo 2, earned $125 million in the first 24 hours at U.S. retail. The Xbox 360 held as a the No. 2 console hardware in the month of Aug., selling 276,700 units in the U.S. according to NPD Group Inc. During the month, Microsoft price cut all Xbox 360 models by $20 to $50 in the U.S. The Xbox 360 has sold 6.3 million units to date in the U.S.
