Wii keeps lead over PS3, Xbox 360 in June sales

Nintendo Co.'s Wii kept its lead over rival consoles in the latest U.S. sales data provided by NPD Group Inc.
In June, Nintendo sold 381,800 Wii units compared to Microsoft Corp.'s Xbox 360 at 198,400 units and Sony Corp.'s Playstation 3 at 98,500 units sold in the month. Additionally, Nintendo held the top-selling game titles for the month – Mario Party 8 for Wii at 426,000 copies sold and Wii Play at 293,000 copies sold in June. Microsoft's Forza Motorsport 2 ranked at No. 5 with 197,000 units sold. Nintendo's DS handheld ranked as the No. 1 video game hardware for the month, moving 561,900 units. The latest Pokemon titles for the platform held positions in the top 5 game sales. Sony's PSP handheld performed amicably at 230,100 units sold for the month.
