Sales for Nintendo Co.'s Wii and Microsoft Corp.'s Xbox 360 plunged, while movement for Sony Corp.'s Playstation 3 increased in the latest sales figures from Ebay.
Nintendo's Wii held the steepest sales decrease at 26 percent, down from a decrease of 16 percent the week prior. Despite a two-week fall, the console is the No. 1 Most Popular video game hardware on Ebay, carrying an average sale price of $418.22.
Microsoft's Xbox 360 held a double-digit decrease of 10 percent in sales, down from a decrease of two percent one week ago. The console is the No. 2 Most Popular video game hardware on Ebay and sells at an average of $346.84.
Sony's PS3 carried the largest sales gain at 16 percent, up from 13 percent the week prior. The hardware ranks as the third best-selling video game hardware at an average price of $587.07.
Wii is the top-selling console in the U.S., selling 338,000 units in the month of May. By comparison, the Xbox 360 moved 155,000 units, followed by the PS3 at 82,000 units in the same period.
